Video Takes: Warren vs. Santa Fe (Week 1)

| | Comments (23) |

It's on to the final of four video prediction/breakdowns with SGVfootballer Aram Tolegian. In this video, we talk about an interesting season opener between Division 4 Warren and Division 7 Santa Fe at Pioneer on Friday at 7 p.m.

This Chiefs have to be thrilled they don't have to contend with former Warren running back Jesse Callier, who's up at Washington. Callier rushed for 214 yards and 4 touchdowns last year. This game may be an indicator of just how well the Chiefs will fare this season. They've only beaten Warren once in the last three years. The last time they won this game, the Chiefs won the Del Rio League in 2008. It will be curious to see how former St. Paul defensive coordinator Gil Jimenez fares in his debut at Warren.

Enjoy the video and please don't forget to check out Aram's blog - In the Huddle

UPDATE: This video was done on Monday before Santa Fe coach Jack Mahlstede confirmed junior Christian Mahlstede was knocked out of Friday's game. I'll still keep my pick though. I like what I've seen from Chiefs quarterback Justin Rincon.

OK Warner, We know it`s you. Worry about Montebello winning a game before you start popping off about Warren. It would be nice to see these two programs play in the future. I would pick Warren, just on the coaching, because Pete and little peter don`t like to prepare, because they know it all already. Ya right.

Warren Fan, you are absolutely right......stadium needs upgrades. cannot even see the cheerleaders cuz they are placed behind poles, coaches on the lift which does not help us fans see the game.

Don't make excuses did those players get hurt in the JV game on Thursday? Nobody gave Santa Fe a chance. This years Santa Fe Football is not about one player it's about the Team!

We had 8 of our starters hurt. But we will give you the win.............

#12 Christian Mahlstede plays a very nice game. Very aggressive. Looked like he had a cast on his hand.

I have not been in that stadium since Jeff Mahlstede was a senior. From the looks of it Pioneer High School Stadium needs a few upgrades. The field looks good but the seating is nothing but obstructed view: light poles, a mobile coaches box disguesed as a lift.

Overall Santa Fe look good. Warren played much better last week vs. Burbank.
