Why are so negitive towards Coach and Montebello? You must be one of those coach's that jumped ship before the start of the season. Get over it and move on. All I know is that they did hire the right guy. A CIF title at St. Paul is pretty impressive. People have there opinions and so do I but you can never take that title from them.

As for the job that he's doing at Montebello, things can be better and I believe they will. They just have to get the players with ability for this to happen. They have been in every game this year. They are getting better each week. My son is very happy with the coaching staff. Especially coach Pete. So you can take your opinion and tell it to your boyfriend . Maybe he will listen. Big game this Friday with Cantwell and Whittier Christian. They might be lower division teams but I think it will be pretty exciting game.

Cantwell wins this game and goes undefeated in the regular season. The only team that can stop them from winning a CIF championship is Nordhoff.

I'm not a CSHM honk so you don't know how painful it was for me to write what I just wrote. LOL!

Cal's freshmen team of next years seniors was a pretty good team. They were close to having a very winning season as freshmen. Lost to ER by 1 in the last half a minute and tied LS. Also gave SF a good game for one half, and went 2-2 -1 in league. Very close to 4 and 1. Only a couple points away. Therefore there is no reason to suggest "no talent". They may have beaten SF if Johnny did not get a neck injury, as they were ahead by 10 when he left. SF ran away at the end with a huge 4th quarter.
The deciding factor may be the staffs ability to develop an offense that suits the talent.
Arnold's offensive setup and strategy appears to favor very, very quick backs like Jones, especially in the one back set. The players he assumed upon Ancich's departure definitely favored that type of offense. I am talking about Jones and Urquiza.
They will need to "develop quality linemen", and I stress quality linemen, because they probably will not have a speedy, cutting on a dime, cutback dangerous runner like Grigsby/Jones again. Those are Pac 10 guys and the chances are slim and none in getting another.
With LS having the season they are, and it looks like it will last through league, and Cal suffering (although there is no reason they should not make the playoffs if the current lineup stays healthy; they played well against a pretty good Schurr team) as they are now, there is no reason to suggest that players will transfer to Cal. Without a Grigsby/Jones type of player you must have a very good line if you want to be dominant

Definately Montebello. Their coach simply stinks up the joint. Never have I seen an ill tempered man win at anything. This is another case where their bark is bigger than their bite. I'm callin coach Pete a politician. Promises, pormises, promises. Ugh! get over yourself and quit. Let a real coach take over.

Whittier's lower division teams seem stagnate when they hit Varsity.

Chiefs seem to be struggling on offense, defense looks solid, they held Charter Oak to 17 points when they averaging 32 pts a game,our defense is keeping us in the game and giving us at least a chance to win, offense needs to step up now that league starts in a few weeks. lets go boys time to step it up

Play hard play safe

Cal will be down a few years. Unless you start seeing quality transfers. Cal is lean in the play maker department until classes 2013 and 2014 come together. Cals 2014 seems to have quality linemen with size. Let's see how they do in League in a couple of weeks. At best I see Cal a 3rd or 4th place team in the Del Rio League next year. Class 2012 was under .500 for their Frosh and Soph years. Cal is struggling now because classes 2011 and 2012 haven't done a lot of winning in their frosh and soph years.

The teams to look out for next year will be Santa Fe, Whittier and La Serna. All three of these teams have an outstanding 2013 class. Whittier and Santa Fe were co-champs their frosh year. In a nut shell, winning and losing follows a team.

Cocur on Cal Hi and Whittier takes.

well none of these teams will make the playoffs- but I see CALHI improving every week and the future looks good as the FROSH and JV teams are doing well- as for Whittier they have a poorly run program and it wont change until they get a new head coach. Montebello should improve but not this year.
