WDN Fodder

This is your chance to talk about what you want to talk about, from high school sports to whatever crosses your mind. How about who should be No. 1 in this week's Daily News Elite 13? Should we drop La Habra from the top spot for losing? Or should we reward the Highlanders for playing Servite tougher than any one expected they could?
Go at it!

Get Ready: I would like to know what Andrew was thinking too. I haven't had time to ask him. But I'm guessing he was just going off returning players. My take is that there comes a time in every program when they will lose key players from a good team the year before and they replacements fill the void rather easily and the ball keeps rolling. I get the feeling that's what is going on at La Serna. My only thing is I have a formula in ranking teams that they must play their way out of their current spot, either by losing to a team they shouldn't lose to, or playing sluggish against a team they should dominate. I think he had La Mirada too far down too, not even in the preseason area top 10 we were originally going to run. But I seen them twice and while they didn't play well last week, I can see them improving as the season goes on.

Steve,

Thanks for allowing me to vent.

Pioneer top 5 in the pre-season PrepXtra poll, can you please ask Andrew Campa where did he get this from AND why were 3 Del Rio League teams (Santa Fe, El Rancho and Pioneer) in the top 5 when La Serna swept the League last year in all 3 divisions (Varsity, JV and Freshmen)…where’s the research at???

La Habra should stay #1, they kept the Servite game to a one possession score, St. Paul #2, La Serna #3 and others???

Is there anyway to verify the stories from your correspondents, in the La Serna at Bonita game they gave props to John McFarland for a 69 yard fumble recovery TD run when it was Faris Nesheiwat. I know your resources are stretched thin but if your correspondences are at the game there’s no excuse (ok, I know we should account for human error) for getting the names wrong especially since the kids work so hard and give it their all.

And to all the bloggers that talk a bunch of crap please, honor the game, kids coaches and let the scoreboard do all the talking.
