| | Comments (1)

Fifteen "My GRAMMY® Moment 2008" musicians -- none from the L.A. area -- have been chosen from the YouTube community to play with current five-time GRAMMY-nominated rock band the Foo Fighters as part of their orchestra created specifically for the 50th Annual GRAMMY Awards on Sunday (Feb. 10).

Three of those top vote-getters — Ann Marie Calhoun from Virginia, Brian Fitzgerald from Pennsylvania, and Tara Klein from Ohio — will have the opportunity to compete for his/her once-in-a-lifetime "GRAMMY Moment" as a featured performer in the orchestra.

To view the video submissions of the Top 3 instrumentalists and vote for their favorite musician, music fans can log on to YouTube (www.youtube.com/mygrammymoment). Music fans also have the opportunity to vote via text messaging on the day of the GRAMMY Awards, Sunday, Feb. 10.

To Whom it may concern:
Recently the Ny Daily News did a story on us profiling our 40 year music history. We are the Poindexters(Richard,Jackie, and me Robert. We are most noted for our classic songs "Thin Line Between Love and Hate by the Persuaders, Hypnotized, by Linda Jones, I'll Be Sweeter Tommorrow by the Ojays" and many more. We have had gold and Platinum covers of Thin Line on artist like: Chrissy Hyndes and the Pretenders, Annie Lennox, Jay-z and Martin Lawrence did the movie of our classic song that grossed over 60 million dollars world wide. Will Smith did another cover called "Willow is a Player" on his "Born to Reign" album that went gold. We have been blessed again, having been award two more plaques for a little known song from our early catalog thatfeatured Jimi Hendrix and now one of the artist that record that song is Amy Winehouse, who is up for record of the year and has six grammy nominations for her "Back to Black album and the other artist to do the same song is 3 time grammy winner John Legend on his "Once Again" album. (what are the odds of that?) Yet despite all of our successes, nobody even heard of us and we think that is shameful that we have never been granted interviews like other pioneers in the business. So we are asking the LA Daily News to follow suit and get the article from New york and Please Post it ! It is called " With a Song in their Hearts and it was published Feb 1 in the Clem Richardson Secton.
Thank you
Robert and Jackie Poindexter
