Ariel Pink brings Haunted Graffiti to Glass House

Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti will perform its brand of lo-fi psychedelic noise pop at the Glass House on Saturday.

The group released its album “Before Today” in June on the 4AD label. In April 2009, the group performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio.

Pink was asked in a May interview about adapting to performing live after starting off as a studio artist. “It’s been strange, and it’s been a real change. It changes how you are as a person. I’m more at home at the Best Western than I am actually at home. It feels weird, actually, to be at home, but that’s OK by me. It’s my job. It’s work. You complain about it, but you get onto it. It’s what I know now, and I feel like I’m kind of good at it. Planning tours: It’s a new skill.”

Mostly a solo artist at first, he enjoys performing with other musicians now, he said.

“That’s a very liberating thing: It allows me to be myself on stage more, rather than just some crotchety control-freak, trying to keep everything going to some sort of plan.”

White Arrows and Bella Novela also will perform at the show.
