For this month's "Coffee and Conversations" event, Second District City Councilwoman Suja Lowenthal will be at Sipology from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 18, with Police Commander Jay Johnson and East Village Association president Richard Lewis about neighborhood issues.

Also, this just in from the EVA:

Many of you have expressed interest in joining together to help plant and maintain trees in the East Village.

We are having a quick informal meeting tomorrow at Sipology Café at 12:00 pm (corner of Broadway and Linden).

The meeting will be immediately following the Coffee with Suja event (10:00 to 12:00) at Sipology.

There will be a very short 15 minute meeting to organize ourselves and then we will head out to water some of the trees recently planted by University by the Sea. Necessary buckets and supplies will be provided.

Come out and help us beautify and green up the East Village.

Could anything be worse?
Swirling down coffee and then, to ad insult to injury, listen to Suja drone on and on, soon followed by a 'dangerous' trek outside.
Well, yes, of course those 'children at risk', but I was also thinking of digging around with shovels in the blazing hot sun!
