<CF12>Belmont Shore parking meter revenue and assessments on business members will be used to improve alleys running parallel to Belmont Shore's Second Street commercial district.
The Belmont Shore Parking and Business Improvement Area Advisory Commission's support for the $1.2 million project will remove degraded surface and replace it with a new heavy-duty cement surface.

Alleys on both the north and south side of Second are scheduled to be replaced.
Work is projected to begin in mid-February or early March, and is expected to take five weeks.

Steps are being taken to maintain access to businesses and parking during the work.

The work plan will limit the amount of area impacted at one time. And quick-dry cement will be used so that alleys can be quickly returned to service.

Deliveries and trash collection will be temporarily relocated to the side streets.

The project will have a single point of contact for community concerns: Chris Baca, cbaca@willdan.com, or 562.908.6270</CF>.
