Community budget meeting

Fifth District Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske will give residents her take on the 2011 budget at a community meeting Saturday, August 21 at 10 a.m. at Emerson Elementary, 2625 Josie Ave.

Facing $18.5 million in cuts, the 2011 budget has been particularly difficult. On hand to talk about the challenges will be City Manager Pat West, who is charged with finalizing the budget. Also participating will be representatives from police, fire, public works, parks recreation and marine and other departments.
