The Neighborhood Resource Center, 425 Atlantic Ave., plays host Monday, August 30 to a presentation about the City of Long Beach's commissions and boards.
Carmen Viramontes from Mayor Bob Foster's office and Heather Mahood, the assistant city attorney, will talk about the volunteer citizen groups and the roles they play in setting city policy and vision in myriad areas. The talk will discuss the many boards and commissions and list the current commission vacancies and how residents can apply to serve.
The presentation is free and translation is available. Interested people can call the Neighborhood Resource Center at 562-570-1010 or send an e-mail to Scottie Hinkey at Sharron.Hinckey@longbeach.gov.
