It's the fall cleaning season and at least two neighborhood groups are staging neighborhood cleanings on Saturday, Sept. 25.
The West Eastside Community Association (WESCA) will stage its monthly alley cleanup at 8 a.m. at Orizaba Park at the corner of  Temple Avenue and Spaulding Street. As usual, there will be a bar-be-cue after the cleaning.Water and gloves will be provider. Organizers encourage people to arrive early to "make the most of the trash truck that will be there at 8 a.m.
Also getting the cleaning bug are the Cal Heights Clean Streets & The Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association Clean Team. Those groups are teaming up for a clean-up Saturday, Sept. 25 from 9 a.m. until noon, beginning from It's A Grind Coffeehouse,  4245 Atlantic Ave.
About 100 volunteers are needed and students get community service hours. Bags and gloves will be provided. Information is available at cleanstreets@calheights.org
