California State Senator Roderick Wright, whose 25th District encompasses Compton and a portion of Long Beach is inviting constituents to send him idea of changes in the law they'd like to see. Here is his idea:

"There Oughta Be A Law" Contest
25th District Residents Encouraged To Submit Their Ideas For Changes To California Law
Over the years, residents and students of the 25th Senate District have come to me with thoughts and suggestions about laws they felt should be implemented, changed or deleted. I have successfully introduced legislation based on some of those ideas.
I understand that constituents often feel left out of the legislative process and feel voiceless. Given that, I would like to invite you to send me your idea for a new law or change to an existing law.
I will select at least one idea and introduce it this February. The winner will be invited to join me for lunch and will have the opportunity to testify on behalf of his or her bill at a formal hearing in the State Capitol.
To submit your idea to our "There Oughta Be A Law" Contest, please download, complete and submit this application by Friday, February 11th at Noon.
Please fax or e-mail your submission to:
