 Despite what pundits might say about the improving economy, the flood of families and homeowners facing foreclosures, evictions or problems with their home mortgages continues for many in the community.

 Those with loan problems or looming issues are invited to attend either of a pair of free two-hour mortgage worshops sponsored by the Long Beach Housing Development Company and the Los Angeles Neighborhood Housing Services.

 The workshops are Wednesday, Aug. 17, 6  p.m to 8 p.m. at Community Grace Brethren Church, 5885 Downey Ave., or Wednesday, Sept. 21, 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Antioch Church, 
1535 Gundry Ave.

 Counselors from LANHS, a HUD-approved counseling agency, will be on hand, Also available will be representatives from Chase Bank, Bank of America, GMAC, and Citi Mortgage who will be able to meet with those who have mortgage loans with their banks.   
 Those who attend will be asked for information on your existing loan(s) such as balance, interest rate and payments, as well as your income and budget information. Mortgage statements and monthly budgets should be brought.
