Johnny Kleker and the Big Band plays the swinging sounds of 1945 on Sunday at El Dorado Community Center, marking the end of World War II.
President Franklin D. Roosevelt will also make a special appearance at 4:30 p.m.
"Aug. 14, 1945, is the day on which the Japanese surrendered, if you were in the United States," said Fifth District Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske. "With the time difference, it was already Aug. 15 in Japan.
To keep celebrating 'The Spirit of '45,' Congress voted unanimously to observe the day on the second Sunday of every August, Schipske said.
The music starts at 5 p.m. and continues until 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
