North LB Community group meets

The North Long Beach Community Action Group will have its monthly meeting Sunday, Nov. 6 at 2 p.m. at the North Long Beach Police Substation at Scherer Park, 4891 Atlantic Ave.

 The featured speaker will be Long Beach Police Department Commander Galen Carroll, who will discuss crime statistics and other law enforcement issues.

As part of its advocacy and education NLB CAG will be presenting Commander Galen Carroll as our guest speaker. Commander Carroll will be informing group of current crime statistics and the projected realignment.  Please tell your friends of this opportunity to participate in North Long Beach.  The meeting  is free and to the public. 


The North Long Beach Community Action Group and History Project Team is the recipient of the Neighborhoods USA 2008-2009, National Grand Prize winner.  The Community Action Group and History Project received national recognition as the first neighborhood group in Long Beach to win Neighborhood of the Year and also won first place in Social Revitalization category.  The North Long Beach Community Action Group is a 501©3 focused on advocacy, education and neighborhood improvement.


The North Long Beach Community Action Group (NLBCAG or CAG) was formed in 1994 by concerned community members in response to civil unrest in the early 1990's.

The purpose of CAG is to improve our neighborhoods using the following strategies:

o Maintain or improve property values;
o Improve the appearance of our area through beautification;
o Unify residents, advocate community causes, unify  groups and business owners; and
o Plan for the future.
