Residents and workers interested in becoming certified in lead-related construction work are invited to a free three-day program offered by the Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services beginning Monday, Nov. 14. Here are the details:

Free Training and Certification to become
a Lead-Related Construction Worker
Anyone who is a painter, construction worker, or home renovator should have this certification.
This important construction certification will make you more valuable and more employable to your boss or potential employer in the construction trades!
Any building built before 1979 is assumed to have lead-based paint. You need to be a certified lead-related construction worker to work on these buildings.

What Is It? Three day training class (in English, must attend all days.)
When? November 14, 15 and 16, 8:00am to 5:00pm
Where? Health Science Associates, 10771 Noel Street, Los Alamitos, CA. No lunch or transportation is provided.
How Do I Sign Up? Contact Victoria Chavez at (562) 570-4168 or Victoria.chavez@longbeach.gov. You will need a drivers license or California ID card to register and receive your certification.
