UPDATE: Abducted Highland boy found safe, aunts and father arrested
HIGHLAND - A 6-year-old boy abducted by family this morning as he walked to school was found safe five hours later, authorities said.
A parent witnessed a woman grab Jacob Roman around 8:15 a.m. as he walked to Highland Grove Elementary School.
San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies located the boy in a Riverside Home Depot parking lot around 1 p.m.
Arrested were Jacob's aunts, 26-year-old Perlita Roman and 22-year-old Sissy Motta, and the boy's father, 27-year-old Sergio Gonzalez, on suspicion of parental abduction and conspiracy.
Gonzalez, of Fontana, was also taken into custody on suspicion of violation of a court order. He was found at a home in Cypress.
The boy's mother had full custody of Jacob and a domestic violence restraining order against Gonzalez and Roman.
Gonzalez tried to snatch Jacob in Redlands on Sunday but was unsuccessful, authorities said.
All three suspects were booked at Central Detention Center in San Bernardino. Bail for each was set at $50,000.
