Meeting today in Victorville to discuss new area code
There will be a public hearing this afternoon at Victorville City Hall to discuss the California Public Utilities Commission's decision to split the 760 area code.
The meeting will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 14343 Civic Dr.
The commission decided to create a 442 for part of San Diego County. Some residents and businesses in San Diego County would prefer an area code overlay, which would place two area codes in the same area.
