CHINO HILLS -- The Pomona Police Department's bloodhound helped sheriff's deputies track down a man who dashed into a field after leading them on a chase in a stolen van.

The suspect, a 26-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of grand theft auto, felony evading and possession of stolen property, police said.

Pomona police received a request from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department at 2:03 a.m. for a bloodhound. Deputies had chased the suspect into the 12700 block of Hillcrest Street.

The suspect and a passenger got out of the van and fled, police said.

Pomona police's bloodhound Willow tracked one of the men about a quarter mile and found him hiding under some heavy brush. The second man was not found. Deputies located stolen property inside the van.
