A suspected drunken driver was arrested late Monday after he slid down an embankment on the 210 Freeway and caused the vehicle to overturn.

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies booked the driver into jail on suspicion of driving while under the influence.

The California Highway Patrol received a call of the crash at 11:02 p.m. on the eastbound 210 Freeway at San Dimas Avenue. Officers found a Monte Carlo on its side down an embankment and about 40 feet of damaged chain link fence, the CHP said. The driver's name was not immediately available.
