Gun used in accidental shooting of San Bernardino boy taken in gun store burglary this week

A 15-year-old boy accidentally shot in the head by his little sister early Wednesday remains in critical condition.

Police are still searching for the 38 mm handgun used in the shooting.

Three guns taken during a burglary at the Magnum Range on South Lugo Avenue earlier this week were found in the boy's N. Davidson Avenue home, but there is no sign of the gun the boy's 14-year-old sister was handling when it discharged.

Officers served a search warrant in the neighborhood Wednesday night, but have not revealed what they found, if anything.

The only arrest connected to shooting has been Mark Amabisca, 18, of San Bernardino. Amabisca is the sister's boyfriend and was taken into custody on suspicion of burglary. Police said he, the victim and a few others cut a hole in the roof of the gun store/shooting range sometime late Monday or early Tuesday and stole nearly a dozen handguns and rifles.

The shooting happened little more than a day after the guns were stolen.
