Hesperia motorcyclist carrying drugs leads deputy on high-speed chase
A Hesperia man riding a street bike was arrested Tuesday after he led a sheriff's motorcycle deputy on a five-mile chase and crashed in a front yard, sheriff's officials said.
A San Bernardino County sheriff's motorcycle deputy had to use a Taser gun on William Danchig when he began climbing a chain-link fence while trying to escape.
The deputy tried pulling over Danchig at the corner of Main Street and Peach Avenue at 8:36 a.m. Danchig sped through the city, nearly losing control of the 1986 Kawasaki motorcycle several times, sheriff's officials said.
He turned east onto Arrowhead Lake Road and then crashed in front of a home.
Deputies discovered Danchig was carrying a large quantity of cash and drugs packaged for sale, sheriff's officials said.
Danchig was booked into jail on suspicion of felony evading and possession of drugs for sale.
