Rain on Saturday to be widespread, but not heavy

Weather forecasters say rain is heading for the Inland Empire this weekend, but it is expected to be very light.

The National Weather Service said the low pressure system moving through the area may provide the first chance of widespread rain since last spring. It will also cause temperatures to dip about 10 degrees lower than normal Saturday.

The San Bernardino Mountains could receive two-tenths of an inch of rain and one-tenth near the coast.

Winds gusting more than 45 mph are possible in the mountains and deserts today through Sunday, forecasters said.

It's going to be sunny today in San Bernardino with a high temperature near 79 degrees. Saturday will have a 40 percent chance of rain, mainly after 11 a.m. and a 30 percent chance of rain in the evening.

It will also be sunny in Ontario today and the high temperature will be near 77 degrees, forecasters said. Ontario's chance of rain Saturday will be 40 percent during the day and 20 percent in the evening.
