The San Bernardino National Forest is preparing for weak to moderate Santa Ana winds Wednesday and Thursday.

Additional engines are being brought in from the Plumas National Forest in Northern California, and all engines will be on a 24-hour staffing plan, according to a forest news release.

Other specialized crews are also in place in case of a fire.
The forest's fire chief, Mike Dietrich, has asked for the public's help to prevent fires.
Wood and charcoal fires are only allowed in fire rings or camp stoves in campgrounds and picnic areas.

No fires are allowed at yellow post campsites.

To used a propane or gas stove or a lantern outside of designated recreation areas, visitors must have campfire permits.

Recreational shooting is only allowed in public shooting ranges.

Vehicles and other machines with internal combustion engines like generators and chainsaws must have spark arresters.

Smoking is only allowed in enclosed vehicles, designated recreation sites and areas cleared of vegetation.

Fireworks are not allowed.

Go to the forest's Web site for more information.
