Teenage boy near death after being accidentally shot by sister in San Bernardino
A teen boy was clinging to life today after his younger sister accidentally shot him in the head with a gun stolen the day before.
The 15-year-old boy, who has not been identified, was shot around 12:30 a.m. today in the family's home in the 700 block of N. Davidson Avenue.
Police spent the evening interviewing everyone who was in the home at the time of the incident, including the boy's mother and his 14-year-old sister, who mistakenly pulled the trigger.

"His 14-year-old sister was trying to make sure a weapon was unloaded
and accidentally shot him," said San Bernardino police Sgt. Dave Dillon.
The boy was taken to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition tonight. He is not expected to live.
Officers canvassed the neighborhood today, trying to gather information on the weapons stash that was found in the boy's home.
"We have not found the gun that shot him yet," said Lt. Scott Paterson. "We found other stolen guns."
At least three guns taken from an overnight burglary earlier this week were found inside the home, but not the 38 mm handgun police believe was used in the accidental shooting.
Police officials refused to relay the family's story as to what happened with the gun. They also declined to identify which burglary during which the weapons were taken.
Not all of the guns taken in the burglary have been recovered, police said.
The boy, the sister's boyfriend and a handful of others are believed to have stolen nearly a dozen handguns and rifles during the burglary. The shooting happened little more than 24 hours after the burglary.
The sister's 18-year-old boyfriend was arrested today on suspicion of burglary. His identity was not immediately available.
The sister is not expected to be arrested because the shooting was unintended, officials said.
Anyone with information on the stolen guns is asked call San Bernardino police Sgt. Tom Bielaszka at (909) 384-5613.
