Firefighters have gotten control of the fire at 750 Holmes Ct. in Lake Arrowhead.

The fire, which started around 7:30 p.m., only grew to 1/4 acre despite reports that it reached 2 acres, said county fire spokeswoman Tracey Martinez.

One home was destroyed and another one had major damage, she said.

Firefighters did a search of the homes, no one was there and there were no injuries.

Some power lines are down in the area.

The fire started at the house and spread into vegetation and a nearby house.

Martinez said there were no evacuations in the area, but officials notified residents on Ivy Lane.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, said U.S. Forest Service spokesman John Miller.
