Apple Valley woman leads deputies on car chase

A woman suspected of drunken driving led a sheriff's deputy on a car chase in rush-hour traffic in Victorville on Thursday, sheriff's officials said.

A San Bernardino County sheriff's motorcycle deputy was patrolling near the corner of Hesperia Road and Verde Street at 3:40 p.m. when he tried to pull over Pamela Bartlett, 48, of Apple Valley. The woman was not wearing a seatbelt.

Bartlett, who was driving a red Chevy pickup truck, led the deputy on a chase on Seventh Street.

She eventually pulled over in a parking lot on Seventh just north of La Paz Drive. Deputies arrested her on suspicion of driving while under the influence and failure to yield.
