Child struck, killed by vehicle in Rubidoux

A child was struck and killed by a truck Friday afternoon.

The child was identified as Ashley Marleen Avalos, 1, of Rubidoux according to information from the Riverside County Coroner's Department.

California Highway Patrol and Riverside County firefighters responded at 2:12 p.m. to the 3200 block of Laurel Drive near La Canada Drive.

Ashley was killed in the driveway of her home, according to the coroner's office.

She was declared dead at the scene. The CHP was investigating.

Basically, this is the same thing that happened in Victorville when a 2 year old wondered out in the middle of the night and got killed on Bear Valley Rd.
