A multi-vehicle crash near Newberry Springs killed three people this morning and sent four more to the hospital.

The 9 a.m. crash was on the eastbound 40 Freeway and caused a Sig Alert for hours after the crash.

In addition to the three people who died, two were flown to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton and two more with moderate injuries were driven to Barstow Community Hospital, said county fire dispatch supervisor Tom Barnes.

Crews were already on the way to an earlier crash on the 40 in Ludlow but stopped when they got to the one near Newberry Springs, Barnes said. He said they were unable to find the other crash Ludlow.

I am also looking for a story of an accident last night at the 10/15 involving mini horses and a girl running in lanes having a panic attack, per CHP cad. Thanks.
