Dry-ice bombs blow up Highland mailboxes

| | Comments (1) |
Two dry-ice bombs destroyed Highand mailboxes late Tuesday night and early this morning.

Someone put one of the bombs, dry ice and water in a 2-liter bottle, in a mailbox in the 7100 block of Bradford Avenue Tuesday, just before midnight, according to a sheriff's news release.

A second bomb went off inside a mailbox in the 26400 block of Pacific Street about an hour later. Though the mailboxes were destroyed, no one was hurt, according to the release.

This type of bomb is dangerous, in part because it can explode unpredictably.

Authorities have not identified any suspects. Using a dry-ice bomb is felony. Anyone with information should call (909) 425-9793 or can remain anonymous at 1 (800) 78-CRIME or www.wetip.com.
