A parolee tossed a pound of marijuana out of a car window while leading police on a high-speed chase Saturday, police said.

Police said Robert Diaz, 23, nearly crashed into several cars while fleeing from officers. Officers tried to stop him at 7:31 p.m. near the corner of Citrus Avenue and Arrow Highway for traffic violations, said Fontana police Sgt. Jeff Decker.

He drove west on Arrow, north of Foothill Boulevard and then turned south on Live Oak Avenue.

He threw a bag of marijuana out of his window and then struck a parked car on Spring Street.
Police captured him at the corner of Spring and Hemlock Street.
