Gary Dean Ramirez, 39, of Montclair was driving his gray Acura TSX  to the area of Mission Boulevard and Ramona Avenue to pick-up a friend about 2 a.m. Saturday, according to a police news release.

When he stopped his car near the entrance of the mobile home park at 11250 Ramona Avenue, Ramirez noticed two other men in the area. He asked the men about his friend but one of the suspects pointed a silver semi-automatic weapon at him and told him to get out of the car.

One of the men put Ramirez in a head lock, forced him to the ground and hit him repeatedly as the three other people stood and watched, according to the news release.

After the beating, the robbers took Ramirez' wallet, cell phone, and jewelry.

Suspect in R.C. home burglaries was recently acquitted of murderOne of the reputed gang members charged this month with burglarizing homes in Rancho Cucamonga was tried and recently acquitted of murder in Riverside County.

Edward Lamar Scott, 20, was among 15 people charged with murder following the February 2006 shooting deaths of two men in Banning.

A Riverside Superior Court jury acquitted Scott of murder on Jan. 16, 2009, but found him guilty of a felony street-gang charge.

Scott was jailed awaiting trial after his arrest on suspicion of murder in February 2006, and was released from custody when he was acquitted of murder. His sentencing in the case is pending.

About three months after his release, Scott and five other people were arrested in connection with a recent string of residential burglaries in Rancho Cucamonga and other affluent communities along the 210 Freeway.

Scott and 16-year-old Anthony Hicks were arrested April 14 in the area of Candlewood Street and Lockhaven Avenue after a neighbor called sheriff's deputies to report suspicious activity.

When deputies arrived, they saw three men loading a TV into a parked car. Deputies arrested Scott and Hicks at the scene.

The third man -- 20-year-old Craisean Ryan Evans -- allegedly ran from the scene and was arrested April 17.

Prosecutors have accused the men of burglarizing a home earlier in the day on April 14 in the 7500 block of Center Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga.

Coroner: Phelan woman was hit by husband's truck and patrol car
Elisa Cedeno, 46, is believed to have leaped from the truck on Daisy Lane near Powerline Road and been hit by both her husband's vehicle and the patrol car pursuing him. An autopsy done by the Riverside County coroner's office found she died from blunt force trauma to the head.

Cedeno's children reported her missing Monday morning after discovering that their father, 49-year-old Martin Mejia Cedeno, had been arrested at the end of a 16-minute pursuit.

Cedeno, who is believed to have been drunk at the time, led deputies over about 12 miles of dirt roads during the chase, turning off his lights and repeatedly slamming on his brakes. He apparently did not tell deputies that his wife had jumped out of the truck.

Prosecutors have charged Cedeno with murder, felony evading, resisting arrest and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer.

The California Highway Patrol has been asked to reconstruct the portion of the chase where Elisa Cedeno is said to have been hit.

Minor decoy operation results in four citations
The four locations were Hagelbargers at Claremont Graduate University, the Doubletree Hotel, Bua Thai Cuisine and Espiaus, according to a Claremont Police Department news release.

According to the release, two minors went to 11 "on-sale" locations where alcohol can be purchased and consumed in Claremont and tried to purchase an alcoholic beverage.

Police said people who sold the alcohol to the decoys received a citation and will appear in court at a later date while their establishments would have their liquor license reviewed.

Besides having the license reviewed, the businesses could possibly have their liquor license be suspended or revoked or be fined.

Funding for the program came from a California Office of Traffic Safety grant through the Business, Transportation and Housing Agency, according to the release.

Skinheads expected to make first court appearanceA clan of skinheads arrested this week for a string of violent crimes are scheduled to make their first court appearance this afternoon.

On Monday, a sheriff's Specialized Enforcement Division arrested seven members - including the leader - of a white racist street gang named Inland Empire Skinhead. Lead investigator Deputy Eric Ogaz said he chose to serve the search warrants on that day because it was Adolf Hitler's birthday.

Charged are brothers Thomas Mason Jr., 24, and Joseph Mason, 20, both of Hesperia; Mark Goslyn, 33, of Hesperia; Carrie Goodwin, 24, of Hesperia; Jeremy Brower, 32, of Winchester; leader Raymond Williams, 33, and his wife, Megan Williams, 24, of Perris; and Joshua Butler, 27.

Authorities said there about 30 members in the gang, which uses MySpace in an attempt to recruit high school students.

The women arrested, Williams and Goodwin, were taken into custody at hospitals because they induced labor so they could give birth on Hitler's birthday.

A criminal complaint filed in Victorville Superior Court provides details on two of the skinheads' crimes.

Goslyn apparently sold a gun to a man, who had not yet paid him in full by early March. He allegedly paid the Mason brothers to help him assault the man, who was later seen with lacerations to his forehead and two black eyes.

Butler and Goslyn were recently stopped after sheriff's deputies found a shotgun and a handgun in their truck. After discussing why they were not arrested, Goslyn told a friend "he would get more guns and shoot police officers if they entered his house to arrest him on a warrant," according to the complaint.
