Muscoy girl nearly drowns in bucket of waterA 15-month-old Muscoy girl nearly drowned Thursday in an outside bucket of water used as a drinking bowl for the family's dogs.

The child, who has not been identified, was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center. Her condition was unknown late Thursday.

The girl's mother was holding a yard sale at their home when she stepped away to answer her cell phone, said San Bernardino County Fire Capt. Bret Raney. The mother quickly noticed the girl facedown in the five-gallon bucket of water that had been placed near a pair of dogs chained to a tree, he said.

Eric Demetrius Donaldson, 36, of San Bernardino, was booked into Central Detention Center in San Bernardino on suspicion of homicide.

San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies received a call at 8:12 a.m. Jan. 2 and came to a dirt area adjacent to the Lytle Creek Wash in Muscoy. They found the body of 27-year-old Sylvana Lewis, who had upper body trauma, and pronounced her dead at the scene.

Deputies obtained a $1 million arrest warrant for Donaldson, who had been involved in a relationship with Lewis, an Adelanto resident. Authorities found Donaldson's vehicle in Las Vegas.

Donaldson was found in Yucca Valley on Monday by the sheriff's Special Enforcement Division and Crime Impact Team.
