Sunday's editorial today
... sort of. Here's a piece of it, which asks an all-too-obvious question about the Operation Phoenix scandal.
"What's it say about us that we can't protect (our kids) more than we have?
"We all know the answer, and yet, some of the smartest people in our community seem more interested in protecting themselves than the people who need them the most.
"They've got plenty of answers, but they've forgotten the question:
"What if it were my daughter?"

You have no idea what I'd like to do with the people responsible for the pain of my children; however, unlike Morris, I follow the law.

I will continue to say that I do not understand how our Mayor thinks it is the job of the Mayor to run programs like Operation Phoenix. However, it is his job to identify the needs of the City and facilitate those needs administratively. Hire experts to manage and administer the needed programs. The Mayors concerns should be focused on the budget short falls that will impact all City services including Operation Phoenix, not just Operation Phoenix, and to work with the Council to balance the budget without distractions of issues he was not elected personally manage or qualified to lead or administer. His job is to provide leadership to this struggling City, it is time he aligns his focus accordingly and gets now to the business at hand.
