Nice job by reigning NHRA Funny Car champion Tony Pedregon and former nitro coupe/Top Fuel driver Whit Bazemore for strong showings in Saturday's Pro/Celebrity Race at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.
Pedregon, who older brothers Frank and Cruz have done well on the USAC midget and sprint car circuits, showed there is something in the family genes by finishing a solid fifth in the 10-lap race over the streets of Long Beach.
Bazemore, meanwhile, showed his competitive talents haven't disappeared in his forced sabbatical by finishing sixth.
Good job guys. Now he we could get Whit back on tour. His talent and personality are definitely needed on tour.
