Funny Car update

Cruz Pedregon relieved the stress a little after the third Funny Car qualifying session this afternoon. The veteran, who brought a 12-point lead over Tim Wilkerson to this event, bumped his way into the field with a steady 4.167 run. He sits in the 13th hole. Tony Pedregon (4.122) and Robert Hight (4.122) continued to be sixth and seventh, respectively, with Tim Wilkerson (4.151) ninth. Fifth-place Jack Beckman, who was unqualified going into the session, jumped into the 10th slot with a 4.157.
If the numbers hold for the final session, the contenders pairings will look this way:
