Top Fuel Round 1, Con't....

Well, it's 4:01 and La Habra's own Cory Mac is lined up to face Shawn Langdon....we hear the sounds of nitro engines coming to life...Cory rolls through the water box and hammers the throttle and does his burnout. Here we go...Cory has to pedal off the line and drives by Langdon for the win with a 3.934, beating Langdon's 4.22. "(The four-hour delay), that's a big deal," McClenathan said. "I went back sat and relaxed, signed a few autographs. I laid back and just relaxed." ...and we are down as Langdon dropped some fluid on the track...4:17, and we're back, and will see what Tony Schumacher can do against Del Cox. I'm picking Schu in this won (pun intended)...The U.S. Army car goes straight down the middle, running a nice .4.84, and advances to the next round, which lines up: Antron Brown vs. Mike Strasburg; Brandon Bernstein vs. Schumacher; Morgan Lucas vs. Steve Chrisman and Cory Mac vs. Doug Kalitta. "So far, so good," Schumacher said. "These new recruits did an outstanding job. That was a good run."
