Auto Club Finals: Shoe makes a statement....Dixon responds

| | Comments (0) |

Tony Schumacher set the tone during Saturday's early qualifying session, running what appeared to be a stout 3.82 to apparently take the points lead back away from Larry Dixon.
But the SoCal native responded by going low of the round with a 3.80 at 321 mph, which was the fastest pass since the move to 1,000 feet last season.
"That's just awesome," Dixon said. "Just awesome. (Team owner) Alan Johnson is not leaving anything on the table. There were six points available today, and we just got three and now we're going to try and get the other three later."
