Former
Altadena resident Rodney King was arrested Tuesday for driving under the influence, just the latest run in with the law for the troubled national figure.
Officials
from the Moreno Valley Police Department reported King had committed
“multiple infractions” while driving a 1994 Mitsubishi, according
to multiple published reports.
King
was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and was
released early Wednesday.
King
was thrust into the national spot light after he was brutally beat by
Los Angeles Police Department officers after a police pursuit.
The cops accused in the beating were acquitted setting off days of riots throughout Los Angeles County. King pleaded for peace during a news broadcast, asking residents across the county “can we all just get along.”
He
told the Star-News the 1991 incident was fueled by his own struggles
with alcohol. Since the beating King has had constant run-ins with
the law, here.
