Thomas to head Altadena Town Council

ALTADENA
- Long-time Altadena resident Sandra Thomas was elected to the
chair of the Altadena Town Council on Tuesday, according to a
statement released by Thomas.

The
35-year resident of Altadena and four-term town councilwoman was a
unanimous selection
and said the election will bolster her
efforts to serve the community.

It
is always a privilege and indeed my pleasure to serve our community,”
Thomas said. “I look 
forward
to working with my fellow council members and community leaders to do
all that I can 
for
Altadena, the community that I love.”

Thomas
works as a community activist and youth advocate through her Quality
of Life Center
, which includes her work leading the Bright Futures Scholars Program. The program assists urban and at-risk students in the academic pursuits.

Thomas
has been honored by an extensive list of community groups and has
served on the Los Angeles County Human Relations Commission as an
appointee of County Supervisor Michael Antonovich.
