MTA uses redundant sign to promote MTA riding

PASADENA
- From the same
people who promised a traffic apocalypse comes this
example of bad marketing copy.

The
Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority wants you to ride their
trains, specifically the Red Line to the Hollywood Bowl, and
commissioned this poster to promote ridership.

Use
the Red Line and to take in a concert and listen to “classical
classics.”

Apparently
this poster, which I saw on the Gold Line – therefore it qualifies
for Notes from Northwest – was designed by the MTA’s division of
redundancy division.

What
are classical classics – Beethoven?

Is
Miles Davis jazzy jazz?

Is
rapper 50 Cent hip-hoppity, hip-hop?
