Hey-oh!
It was a WIN for Attorney GLORIA ALLRED today at the LAMOREAUX JUSTICE CENTER in the city of Orange as the judge put a financial guardian in place, temporarily, for NADYA SULEMAN'S CHILDREN!
A man named NORBET BUNT got the nod from the judge.
Suleman came out of the building and walked straight to Attorney Jeff Czech's car as a few reported tried to get a few comments for her.
Although she managed to crack a few smiles, it was obvious that SULEMAN was not happy with the results. But when asked what she thought about today's turn of events, she said she had no idea (what had happened in court) and that she was "indifferent."
Suleman had arrived with her attorneys and LUKE CAMPBELL who rolls tape as SULEMAN exited the vehicle.
Allred, on the other hand, arrived with one other attorney and gave a big smile to the cameras.
Allred also took the time to give a press conference after the guardian had been appointed.
So there YOU have it, MORE TO COME in an IN-DEPTH STORY in a bit!!! PHOTOS will be up in a sec as well!!
until next time, LATES!

Let's hear it for Nerdbert, yeah...
1. I think it's Norbert Bunt
2. Anyone have video of Gloria at her press conference?
3. Did they approve the children being filmed for the documentary?
4. Will there be a transcript of the hearing?
Pictures pictures! YAY!
Let's hear it for Paul, Gloria, and the Judge... GOOD JOB!
Gooled Norbert Bunt and that guy is a lawyer out of CA that specializes in estate planning.
No wrong doing goes unpunished....What a victory..GrandmaB, I've been reading your posts for a while and I have to say that I really enjoy the time (and humor) you place into your posts...Please don't let anyone on this board discourage you or bring you down...You're one of the few intellectual posters I enjoy reading...Keep on writing, GrandaB!!
Interesting, I just realized the that the filming starts the day after the financial guardian's appointment ENDS.
This is a temporary decision. It seems to me the court feels there is reason to look into the finances but not enough to decide if one is needed for a longer period of time.
Gee ibshinab... thank you!
Info, it has been reported that this guardian is going back to the very beginning and will be looking at all income and money spent and then is to report back and a decision will be made as far as a permanent guardian at that point. I for one, am very encouraged by this. You really did not believe that the guardian would be appointed at all, so are your pleased or dismayed? No ill will meant, just curious on your take.
"This is a temporary decision. It seems to me the court feels there is reason to look into the finances but not enough to decide if one is needed for a longer period of time."
-----------
Info, this is a temporary GAL. Probably until the licensing can go through for Hammond. Then Hammond will come in and look at all the finances for the last six months. Gloria Allred plans on being back in court probably before the August 20th dismissal date.
I'm very pleased. I think it was a very fair decision by the judge. I thought he would just get all papers and delay a judgement but in hindsight it would take someone who specializes in this sort of financial forensics to properly evaluate the information.
I think the judge made the best possible decision and a very wise one. Depending on what Bunt discovers the judge can now extend his temporary guardianship to give him more time if he needs, or assign a guardian for an indefinite period of time, or dismiss the case altogether. Whatever decisions he makes it will be made on solid information.
If the judge decides that the children need a GAL indefinitely then I will assume that he has good reason to make that decision. If the outcome is that he determines no GAL is needed I wonder if other posters would be equally prepared to accept that the judge made the right decision based on the evidence at hand.
Does anyone know who pays the temporary GAL? I'm guessing the court. It just hit me that taxpayers are probably paying all court costs.
It is temporary, once its all checked out it will be dismissed. Thats my opinion.
After reading this Ap article and the quote of what the judge said I agree this is probably a good thing for the octuplets; not because their mother is wasting their money but because everybody and his brother is out their exploiting them and taking advantage of her inexperience. Mention was make of the fact that pictures of the babies such as those which have been published have earned millions for celebrities babies. Heres' the link with an extra "h"

Razzi let me know if it's not OK to cite and Ap article in this way
Sandee, do you really beleive that Nadya's expenditures to date reflect someone who has been financially responsible?
This woman has shown she can accept government assistance, while paying for several in vitro attempts, there were aleast two failed attempts before the octuplets. She bought a 20 gallon fish tank and hired a service to take care of it. It would appear that she has probably spent money on plastic surgery since the birth. (lets agree to dabate that one later) She has sold the octuplets image in video and in print with out making sure she was following all the laws until after the fact. Ignorance is not an exuse.
Terry Hammond has had his California license since July 16th. I think the current GAL is there to examine the records since the birth of the octoplets.
Even if the judge decides that the children should have a GAL he doesn't need to give any special weight to Gloria's preferences.
I must admit I am somewhat confused over the timing of the motion to dismiss. Now that a GAL is in place I don't see any point to a motion of dismissal hearing because obviously the judge will want a report from the GAL first. I guess I watch too much TV but I would have thought that the motion to dismiss would have been handled today or not at all.
Now that a GAL is in place why would Gloria return to court before the 20th?
It seems to me both sides need to just stand down until the GAL makes a report to the judge either with his findings or with a request for more time.
Someone is paying and these costs are not cheap. This is a case where I don't think Octomom will earn enough and by the time the net proceeds are paid to her, there will be very little left to live high on the hog.
As I have said before. She just does not understand. She is still fearful that the kids will be taken from her and that could not be further from the truth. I don't know whether she is not capable of understanding or she does not keep quiet long enough for it to be explained to her. I still think that her maturity level is no more than a teenager. Living a sheltered life, this fact could very well be true. That's why she is so confusing. We expect to see a 33 year old but a 13 year old emerges. JMHO TYVM
I agree with you Sandee but you never know. Millie made a good point about people taking advantage of Nadya's inexperience although she does have an entertainment lawyer now.
The link you provided (Sandee) was quite enlightening. The judge deliberately appointed an independent party so clearly he isn't terribly impressed by Allred either.
I think it's hilarious that LaCilento said Gloria was nosy and grandstanding. LOL, so true. Allred claimed they are "only here because we're concerned about securing the financial security of these octuplets,"
Yeah right Allred, and for that you need to have pre and post court press conferences.
I think the link was from Millie not me....
