Approved at Etiwanda, Leach ‘won’t be outcoached’

Thomas Leach was approved Tuesday by the school board to become Etiwanda’s new head football coach. After head coaching stints for two and five seasons, respectively at Diamond Ranch and Chaparral, Leach will take over for Steve Bryce, who resigned following last season.

“He seems like the type of guy that if we lose a game, it’s not going to be because he got outcoached,” Etiwanda athletic director David Masucci said. “He puts in the time and he cares a great deal about what he does. He’s a players’ coach, the type that gets his players to run through walls for him.”

Leach posted a 47-19 record in five seasons at Chaparral, winning a CIF-SS Inland Division championship in 2009. He was most recently an assistant coach for Norco after departing Chaparral following the 2010 season.

Man Masucci, you sure are an ass. What a cheap shot at Bryce. IK don’t know Bryce but I know of him and you, sir, obviously show your inexperience as an AD when you publicly take a shot at the outgoing coach like that . I hope Etiwanda goes 0-10 and Leach gets caught with his pants down.

  • How in the world do you take this as a shot at Bryce? He’s just complimenting his new coach.

Tommy Leach is a tactical master, as far as I am concerned. As a Southwestern League fan, I watched his CHS Pumas play a number of games. Leach prepares well, adjusts very well, and is fearless (some would say reckless) in his play-calling. Look for Etiwanda to emerge as a perennial power in the Baseline League, and a constant playoff team in the Inland Division.

How this working out for you? You now have an undisciplined team that shows it is unprepared more and more every week. If you have ever been to a game it is complete chaos on the sideline with a bunch of young coaches running around calling the shots. This team need a general who takes charge and demands order and organization. This team lacks that big time….
