Seven local boys basketball teams eliminated

Seven Inland Valley boys basketball teams were eliminated from the playoffs in Tuesday’s second round/quarterfinals, several of which were unexpected. Division 3AAA top seed Damien went down inthe quarters, as did all three Sierra League representatives. Sixth-seeded Summit, Don Lugo and Ayala each lost nail-biters while two-time defending state champion La Verne Lutheran won a tight one. Three teams remain in Division 1AA as Etiwanda, Eisenhower and Upland moved on, but no more than one team is still alive in any other single division.
