Azusa Pacific holding first junior day as D2 program

Azusa Pacific is hosting a junior day Saturday for prospective football players, its first since making the jump from NAIA to Division II. As the only Division II program in the Los Angeles area, Azusa Pacific is hoping the move from NAIA will boost recruiting, beginning with a large turnout of high school juniors on Saturday.

Check-in for juniors and guests is at 5:30 p.m. in front of the Hall of Champions. Players can RSVP for junior day by calling the Azusa Pacific football office at (626) 815-3211. Azusa Pacific finished last season ranked 15th in NAIA with a 6-4 record. The program has made seven playoff appearances since 1998 and won one NAIA championship.
