Daily Bulletin prep football preseason top 10

1. Rancho Cucamonga (11-2)
Teams better be prepared to run on the Cougars, who feature two of the top defensive backs in the country in Chris Hawkins and Tahaan Goodman.
2. Upland (12-1)
The defending champs of a league that produced a pair of semifinalists are loaded with talent again and have one of the area’s best quarterbacks in Nate Romine.
3. Summit (13-1)
The defending CIF-SS Eastern Division champions return eight starters on a defense that had a school-record six shutouts last season.
4. Chino Hills (6-5)
The Huskies got an unexpected boost in the offseason when reigning Mt. Baldy League offensive player of the year, quarterback Matt Simko, transferred in.
5. Etiwanda (6-4)
A season after missing the playoffs the Eagles have enough talent to win a title, according to new coach Tom Leach.

6. Kaiser (8-4)
The Cats are out for revenge a season after its run of 11 consecutive Sunkist League titles was snapped by a Summit team that went on to win a CIF title.
7. Chino (9-3)
The Cowboys have more size and speed than in recent years, but they need to replace three-year starters at quarterback and running back.
8. Carter (11-2)
The Lions graduated this newspaper’s 2011 Player of the Year, running back Gaylon Maxie, but a defense led by UCLA pledge Kenny Clark could be stout.
9. Damien (7-4)
The Spartans have the most team speed they’ve ever had under coach Greg Gano, but they are searching for replacements on the offensive and defensive fronts.
10. San Dimas (10-3)
Every season the Saints seem to plug capable players into the Wing-T offense that has led it to at least the division semifinals the last three years.
