Carter coach Alex Pierce will also extend his season after he was selected to be the head coach of the San Bernardino County team in the Sport Foundation Inland Empire All-Star Football Classic.
The San Bernardino County all stars will take on a team of all stars from Riverside County Jan. 12 at Corona High School in the 28th edition of the game.
“The stands are always packed for this game,” Pierce said. “I’ve been to it a few times and it’s an exciting atmosphere. I’m really looking forward to it.”
Pierce and his coaching staff will accept up to five player nominations from all teams in San Bernardino County, which they will narrow to a roster of 42. The fifth-year coach of the Lions believes his selection has plenty to do with the fact that Carter has reached the CIF-SS semifinals each of the last two seasons.
“I think this is good recognition of all the hard work my players have put in,” Pierce said. “This is more about what they’ve done than what I’ve done.”
