Chino Hills to stick with 2 quarterbacks

Chino Hills football coach Matt Bechtel is taking a page for Lane Kiffin’s book although he has to hope his has a happier ending.

Bechtel is going with two quarterbacks – sophomore Zac Sturdivent and junior Daniel Martinez. In this case it’s not that neither is doing the job, it’s that both ARE getting it done.

If he has to go into Sierra League play still undecided on one, so be it.

“They’re both doing a good job of managing the game and moving the chains and that’s what we ask them to do,” he said. “I’d be doing the a disservice if I decided on one.”

“We’ll just have two game plans, one for each guy. It’s just more work for me but that’s OK.”

The Huskies are 1-1. They’re coming off a 47-42 loss to highly-regarded Bishop Amat.

It won’t get any easier this week as the Huskies will be taking on Tesoro (2-0) on Thursday, the shorter week making for another challenge.
