Chino Hills’ Lonzo Ball commits to UCLA

Chino Hills High School basketball standout Lonzo Ball has committed to UCLA. And oh yeah, he’s just a sophomore.

And Ball is that good. He’s a 6-foot-5 point guard and only 16 so can’t imagine how much better he’ll get as he gets stronger and matures physically.

He had offers from nearly all the Pac 12 schools and was considering Connecticut and Washington but he preferred to stay close to home. The tradition of the UCLA program was also a factor.

He liked the idea of getting that decision out of the way early too.

“Now I won’t have to worry who is in the stands watching me play or wonder what happens if I have a bad game,” he said.

Ball has a freshman brother LiAngelo who is also pretty good, as evidenced by the fact he’s a starter too. And yes, he’d like to go to UCLA if at all possible.
