Chino’s Viramontes a finalist for prestigious softball honor

Chino High School senior pitcher Miranda Viramontes is a finalist for CalHisSport’s Mr. Softball State Player of the Year.

Viramontes led the Cowboys to a spot in the Division 2 championship game where they lost to No. 1 Mission Viejo 1-0 in nine innings. She boasted a 25-1 record with 0.28 ERA and 298 strikeouts in 174 innings.

If that weren’t enough, Viramontes hit .415 with 10 home runs and 36 RBI.

Viramontes now looks to start her collegiate career at the University of Utah.
