The second annual Jake Pilkerton Memorial Baseball Game is slated for 1 p.m. today at San Manuel Stadium.
Pilkerton was a baseball standout at Rim of the World, then went on to play two years at San Bernardino Valley College and two at Cal State San Bernardino.
Pilkerton, who played second base and earned multiple honors in his prep and collegiate career, was killed in an automobile accident on Aug. 3, 2013.
There will be a raffle, memorabilia and food and beverages available with the proceeds going toward a trust fund that will be distributed to help the baseball programs at all three schools for which Pilkerton played.
Pilkerton was known as a hard-nosed athlete who had a passion for the game. Those that knew him want to see that legacy carry on.
